These terms govern your use of jeanroorda.com and of the CHALICE app for iOS and Android, both provided by Jean Roorda of Bend, Oregon, United States. By using either one you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
Part One covers the website and the things you can buy or book through it. Part Two covers the app.
Part One: The Website
1. What this site is
jeanroorda.com is Jean Roorda's own site. It holds her writing, her music and poems, information about her meditation classes and clairvoyant readings, a way to book a session with her, and a book you can buy. Everything on it is offered for your personal use.
2. The nature of the work, and what it is not
Please read this section even if you read nothing else.
Clairvoyant readings, energy healings, meditation classes and the written material on this site are offered for spiritual insight and personal growth. They are not medical care, psychological care, psychotherapy, counselling, legal advice or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for any of those. Nothing offered here diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any illness or condition.
Nothing said in a reading, a class or a piece of writing should be relied on in place of a qualified professional, and no particular outcome is promised or guaranteed. What you do with anything you receive is your own decision and your own responsibility. Please continue any treatment or medication you are receiving, and speak to your doctor before changing it.
If you are in crisis, or thinking of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line now. This site cannot help you in an emergency.
Sessions and classes are for adults. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Buying the book
The poem book is a physical book, printed and posted to you.
- Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Card details are never handled by this website.
- Delivery. Books are posted after payment clears. Delivery times depend on the postal service and are estimates, not promises.
- Damaged or wrong. If your book arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered, write to hello@jeanroorda.com within 30 days of delivery and it will be replaced or refunded.
- Changed your mind. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have 14 days from receiving the book to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason. Write to the address above, return the book unused and in a saleable condition, and the price will be refunded. Return postage is yours unless the book was faulty.
4. Readings and classes
Sessions are booked through the booking link on the site or by writing to Jean. Payment is due as set out at the time of booking. If you need to move or cancel a session, please give at least 24 hours' notice so that the time can be offered to someone else. Sessions cancelled with less notice, and sessions where you simply do not appear, may be charged in full. If Jean has to cancel, you will be offered another time or a full refund, whichever you prefer.
5. What belongs to whom
The writing, recordings, music, poems, photographs, meditations and design on this site belong to Jean Roorda or are used with permission. You are welcome to read them, listen to them, print a copy for yourself, and share a link with anyone.
You may not copy, republish, sell, broadcast, or make derivative works from any of it, and you may not use any of it to train a machine learning system, without written permission. Quoting a short passage with a credit and a link is fine and always welcome.
6. Using the site properly
Please do not attempt to break into any part of the site, interfere with how it runs, send it automated traffic that degrades it for other people, use the contact form to send unsolicited advertising, or use the site for anything unlawful.
7. Links to other places
The site links to other websites and includes material served by other companies. Those are outside Jean's control. Following a link means their terms and their privacy policy apply, not these.
8. Availability
The site is offered as it is. It may be unavailable at times, for maintenance or for reasons outside anyone's control, and pages may be changed or removed. No promise is made that it will always be available or always free of errors.
9. Responsibility
To the extent the law allows, Jean Roorda is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or from anything you read on it.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are unaffected by anything written here.
10. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Oregon in the United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
If you are a consumer living in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The new version appears on this page with a new date at the top, and applies from then on. Anything you have already bought is governed by the terms in force when you bought it.

Part Two: The CHALICE App
These terms govern your use of the CHALICE mobile application. By downloading, installing or using it, you agree to them.
1. What CHALICE offers
CHALICE is a sanctuary for spiritual growth, healing and learning: a library of guided clairvoyant meditations, live sessions, and a community of people practising together to deepen awareness, intuition and spiritual growth.
Once you have created an account, recorded classes are under Courses and Lessons on the lower bar, with free and paid options, and the choice to download a class to your phone for later. The Foundation Series is the place to begin. Live clairvoyant meditations and training are under Live. Community opens a space to talk with other students and healers, Chat reaches Jean directly, and Book a Private Reading sits under Settings.
Individual lessons are bought one at a time. Courses gather several lessons and may be free or paid. Live meditations can be paid for singly, or by subscription: a monthly subscription covers every live meditation in the following 30 days, and a quarterly subscription every live meditation in the following 90 days. Buying any lesson, course, live meditation or subscription also opens the Community page to you.
Parts of the app may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time.
2. Purchases and subscriptions
- How payment works. Everything is bought through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, charged to your Apple ID or Google account, and CHALICE never sees your card details.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal charge is taken within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the rate shown to you.
- Managing and cancelling. Turn renewal off in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, because they took the payment. If something has gone wrong, write to Jean as well and she will help where she can.
- Prices may change. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.
- Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. Where you have asked for immediate access to a lesson or course and it has been delivered, that right ends once delivery has begun, which is the standard position for digital content.
3. Your account
Some features need an account. Please give accurate information when you create one, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has been using your account. What happens under your account is your responsibility.
4. Meditating safely
These meditations take you inward, and where you are matters. Do not listen while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that needs your attention. Sit in a chair, upright but relaxed, feet on the floor, eyes closed, somewhere as quiet and undisturbed as you can find.
For your own sake and for the sake of everyone meditating with you, please come to this work substance-free. The energetic interference that drugs, alcohol and plant medicines create gets in the way of the awareness, transformation and ownership of your own body and mind that this practice is for. If you are struggling to step out of a pattern of substance use and would like support, please seek proper counselling, and do get in touch with Jean if you have questions.
If you are working through severe physical trauma or abuse, please consider somatic therapy alongside the healing work offered here.
As with the website, none of this is medical or psychological care, and none of it replaces professional treatment.
5. How to behave here
Please do not break the law, use the app for anything unauthorised, disrupt how it works for other people, or harass, abuse or threaten anyone in the Community or in Chat. Accounts that do may be suspended or closed.
What you post is yours and you are responsible for it. CHALICE does not claim ownership of it, but does need your permission to store it, show it to the people you meant it for, and keep the app running, and posting it gives that permission.
6. What belongs to whom
The meditations, recordings, course material, text and design in the app belong to Jean Roorda or are licensed to her. Downloading a class for offline listening is exactly what the download button is for. Recording, copying, sharing, republishing, selling or otherwise distributing any of it, or using it to train a machine learning system, is not permitted.
7. Privacy
How the app handles your information is set out in Part Two of the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and responsibility
The app is provided as it is and as it is available, without warranties of any kind. It is not promised to be uninterrupted, error-free or secure against everything.
